Ok Board, its me again,
Bondo, Don S. I need the pros to chime in cuz im stumped at the moment
Ok Here is the short list
New long Block............ I havent checked the numbers on the block yet but I believe it to be a 1977 or so................Chevy 350/Merc260 with about 1 hour of run time on it, Using 5 /30 wieght oil for the break in (still sitting on the stand)Checked compression>>>>120 on all 8 cylinders
same intake same carb.
same manifolds I inspected them but did not pressure test them, they looked very good IMO
same risers
Checked starter>>>>>>>>checked good reinstalled
checked alt>>>>>>>checked good reinstalled
New water pump
all new gaskets
New Bosch Platnum spark plugs
Same Marine stainless plug wires
New cap and rotor
Same distributer
I did all the work to assemble myself and with the help of Iboats(Thank you Thank You Thank You ) I couldnt have done it without this website
NOW Here is the issue
The engine runs incredible, Fires instantly runs very well so far but when I looked under the oil fill cap I saw a bunch of WHITE oil/grease looking stuff on the cap, after doing dialing in the timing Is this normal ? am i over reacting?
Or is it milk shake??? could it be the risers? or more likley the manifolds?
I dont think its the head gaskets cuz all are testing even all the way around
