Re: New Look

So at this point can we assume that the horizontal picture scrolling "problem" is going to stay? In my resto thread, I intentionally made wider pictures, being guided by what was then the available width, so they would show more detail. As I stumble through my project, I'm hoping that the record of it might help somebody in the future who knew as little as I did. If they have to screw around with scrolling side to side to see the photos, I doubt they'll bother reading it. It woud be a major pain for me to go back and edit all my photos to max. 640 wide.

Is that the alternative?

EDIT: This seems to only be a problem using Firefox. In IE, using the most magnified setting View>Text Size>Largest, it seems to be OK.

That scroll issue is keeping me from browsing from my blackberry. It it's very hard. Also having the avatars to the side makes it very inconvenient. It takes space horizontally and before you new who made the comment without having to scroll side to side. I dont have an issue with change but when the change makes it harder to use the board then it is natural for the users to complaint, kinda like "it was not broke, now it is."

Re: New Look

I love the new look and functionality. I even enjoy it on my HTC EVO. I do use a modern day resolution on my computers and on my phone it seems to fit pretty well.

It seems faster, but randomly overwelms Internet Explorer and locks it up.

Re: New Look

Are the forum topics in the right place for you guys? Some of mine are scattered on top of the vertical ads/banners on the right side and the rest are 6" to the right of that. Might be a Mac thing.?

Forum Topics look right to me, but I swore of IE two years ago, I am using Windows 7 + Firefox.

I have not had any problem with hitting the "Post Quick Reply" button and having anything erased. Anybody else?

Not me, I'm sure it's operator error if that is happening to anyone.

Re: New Look

I've had the problem of losing what I was "Quick Replying" more than a couple times. Very aggravating and I have learned to "select all" and "copy" whatever I've typed before I hit the Post button, just incase. Ctrl-A then Ctrl-C does it quick so it's not THAT big of a deal when you can remember to do it. It could have been user error a couple times because I may have clicked the blue "+ Reply to Thread" button instead of the silver "Post Quick Reply" button, which of course will lose the message. Just something to get used to...

It seems like the second time I type a reply it is always shorter than what I had typed the first time before it vanished. Go figure...

Everything else seems to work fine on Win7 + FireFox here... widescreen laptop with 1600 x 900 resolution and everything looks fine (no pics scrolling).
