Thanks, The paint job came out good. The anti skid package said to put half of the pack to a gallon of paint. I put the whole pack in and it really helps. As for selling, if I ever did sell I would totally disclose the condition of the boat. I would never put an operator or his family at risk. Plus, I dont liked to get ripped off so I make a point not to do it to anyone else.

For that boat, 17' for motor, I wouldn't want less then 90hp, although, I'd guess you could get away with 70hp. My 16' trihull has a 115 on it.

I think a 70 is the smallest I would go. Hopeing to catch a good deal on one after boating season.

you're making the boat for yourself, so pick what you want and then enjoy it.
it all looks good to me because he haven't found any surprises that set you back time or money

Re: NEW PHOTOS Need Advise With New Boat Project SEE Pictures

Well after some long hours and days and alot of dirty looks and comments from the wife I put the boat in the water today for the first time. I still have a little bit to do in the fuel tank area but I wanted to make sure I did not have any leaks. I just used a portable tank installed today. Everything I think went very well. The 80 HP Mercury pushed the boat well. I estimate speed around 30-35mph. Dont have a speedo in it yet. Boat seems to struggle a tad to get on plane but once there it runs well. I am a new to the bigger boats and am still trying to figure out the trim settings. Should I take off with moter trimmed up or down. Ran up and down the canel a few times and decided to call it a day. I still do not have it registered and did not want to take a chance running into DNR. Getting it on the trailer was a bit differant than my jon boat. I think I had to much of the trailer in the water and struggled keeping it centered but will try some other stuff next time out. The really only issue I had was when in reverse It would jump out and make a rachet noise like it was not all the way engaged all the way. I am going to try and adjust the cable some and see if that helps. All in all I think it was a good outing. Rig is 95% complete and just need to finish the last 5. I added a couple if pic of my prod moment. Thanks to EVERYONE on Iboats for all there help and for putting up with all the sometimes dumb questions.

You want to start with motor trimmed all the way down.

Great job! Now we need to see video of the boat cruising on the water. :D

As for trim... start out with the motor trimmed all the way down and as the boat starts climbing out of the hole, start slowly raising the trim level. After awhile, you'll get a feel for what the boat likes best. And that will change all the time, based on load, wind, waves, etc.
