Don't like E-brakes at all
Have yet to find where I need to open the door when backing or going forward but did find out my 2025 truck does apply the brakes, hate that.

Me launching a boat goes from backing in reverse until boat starts down the ramp, then I put trans in Drive and let it idle back. If I need to slow or stop, just push down on accelerator, no brakes needed until full stop

As far as the automatic parking brake. It does suck but it’s also convenient at the exact same time. If it senses the vehicle rolling, it locks automatically and touching the gas on most vehicles pulls it off automatically, so on a boat ramp you’ll never actually forget..
it does not engage on the boat ramp every time. Today I launched and retrieved. Worked at launch, not so good when stopped on ramp to retrieve.

LOL...I love E-brakes. Never have to have an emergency brake cable to ever have to adjust again is a good thing.

I think I've had to adjust a cable parking brake once. Based on the number of recalls of electronic parking brakes releasing or engaging when they aren't supposed to... I'll take my chances. I don't even like hill start assist.

Yeah, turning a couple nuts is such a monumental task, It’s so much more convenient to deal with a frozen brake, get a tow and pay the dealer to fix whatever electronic issue it is. 🙄

I've worked on all kinds of parking brake mechanisms over the years . . . not sure I liked any of them. :ROFLMAO:

Never adjusted a parking brake on anything except my dump truck, never needed to. My truck has electrical braking and has a push the peddle down parking brake
