Found a CD-25C long shaft that looks very good at an estate sale. It's complete, clean, and appears well cared for. The skeg is scuffed a bit but the rest of the paint is good and it has no rust or corrosion on it anywhere. I could not pass it up but have not really checked it out. It turns over OK with the rope and has compression. Only thing I see wrong is a broken choke knob, which acording to BRP website is still available.
Anyway, what's the general reputation of these motors? Any common problems I should be aware of? I'm assuming it's a 50:1 mix, correct? I'll start going over it as time permits, just looking for some basic info on it.
Thanks

50:1 is correct, I would suggest replacing the impeller, and drain and refill the lower unit then give it a try. May need to
rebuild the carb and fuel pump but if it was me would probably do the impeller and then see what happens

I have a 1965 6 horse Evinrude, probably the most trustworthy boat motors I have ever had experience with if you take care of it.

Thanks for the replies, good to hear they were good motors. I'm buying a factory service manual and will get going on the impeller, gear oil, etc. If I run into problems or have questions, I'll start a thread. Thanks again.
