Hey all,
I just wanted to take a minute to introduce myself to the site. I've been on here reading and researching for a bit, so I finally registered. This will be my first post. Seems like there is a lot of valuable information here, and some great projects as well! Let me start by telling you a bit about myself.
I'm a 31 y/o Finance major at CSULB (I know, I'm old to be doing an undergrad...I took a few years off and went back to school), I graduate in May and I'm looking into MBA programs at the moment. I'm an avid dirtbike enthusiast, and enjoy watersports whenever possible. Last year a good friend of mine and I did a 50/50 split ownership on a Yamaha Waverunner (GP800R), this year we decided to step it up, and buy our first boat. So here is what we bought!!
1996 Bluewater Eagle, 4.3L Mercruiser I/O, 179 hours. Pretty standard issue, used vessel. Got it at a great price ($3100), but it needed some minor interior, stereo, and trailer work. Plus a small number of odds and ends (like an oar, what boat doesnt have an oar?? lol). Since the purchase right before Christmas, we have gotten the worn upholstery pieces re-finished, new trailer wheels and tires, a prop, and misc other items. Check out the pics and let me know what you think for our first boat. Thanks in advance for any questions, comments, etc.
I had the three bow cushions, the two rear jump seats, two complete engine cover pieces, and drivers bottom insert reupholstered for under $400. The next step is to update the trailer...new bunks, lighting, and a little bit of welding on the rear, as it had been dragged at some time by being bumper-pulled behind a Suburban. Thanks again!
