Hello everyone, I got my boat put back together and took it out yesterday however, I have a problem. When I started the engine everything ran great but when I went to full throttle it bogged down, after looking at the carb I found out im not getting fuel at full throttle. After about 1/2 way on the throttle the fuel cuts out and wont accelerate anymore.
My boat is a 18' 1972 Sea Ray Bow-rider with a 4.1 Mercruiser 250 inline 6 and a Rochester 2 bbl carb. What would cause this?

Ayuh,.....

It Could be anywhere between the Fuel Tank,+ the Carb.......
I'd start with the Fuel Filter,+ Go from there.......

Re: No Gas

While out yesterday I replaced the fuel filter, the old one was pretty dirty. But when i pulled the upper housing of the carb off afterward the fuel bowl was maintaining plenty of fuel in the carb. Even so its still not giving me gas at full throttle.

Ayuh,........

It's possible that the Carb is Plugged, Internally............

Re: No Gas

or perhaps since ya've had the top off yer carb. yer float level got out of adj. or needs adj.....there's a spec for that.......there's also a screen type filter where the fuel line hooks up to the carb. i've found debris in mine that get's past the fuel pump filter....i had a coil breakdown that also acted similar to what yer describeing...that only acted up after the engine was warm though......
