My 86 searay seville doesnt have any power to the console or anything. I checked all fuses and wiring I could think of. Battery is good and when I test the starter it works fine. Advice please?

Re: No power?

welcome to iboats

you didn't give any info as to what power you have or when/how this issue started BUT I'm gonna go out on a limb and say push the little red button in the circuit breaker on the engine (mercruiser)

I don't know if you have one or not but look for something that looks like this.

Re: No power?

I have an 88 byliner with an OMC and had a similar problem when i was not paying attention and reversed the battery cables. There are 2 each 50 amp fuses on the back side of the block and I blew one of them. they are in black solid cylinderical tubes so they don't jump out at you as being fuses. Check them. I will try to attach a wiring diagram...

Re: No power?

It also looks like you have the dreaded black OMC Cobra cables. They need to be changed to the RED ones.

Shifter cables? What cable?

Yea he is talking about the transom shift cable new one's are red not black. Is this a new boat to you and does the shifter shift smooth or alittle ruff?
Any how get your power going then deal with the cable if you do have a problem with it check this link out for cable adjusting tools if you do it yourself. http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=532964

Re: No power?

You need to forget about the shift cable right now. If you can't run the engine, you can't check the cable or how it shifts or anything else.

Do you have power to the B (red) wire on the ignition switch? Since you don't know how your system is set up, we just have to narrow down what does work and what doesn't work.
Check everything on your boat and list what does work only. Include starting, instruments, trim, etc. when you check things.
