Hey scoutabout. My neighbor down the cove has a setup similar to yours with one addition that makes it a lot easier for him to get everything lined up every time. He added a short cable from the bow eye to the main pull cable. There is a float on the hook for the bow eye. When he pulls in he uses a boat hook to grab the cable and hooks it to the eye.

When he winches the cradle up it puts the boat in the same spot every time. As they say a picture or in this case drawing, is worth a thousand words. I didn't see the guides in your picture at first, so just ignore the ones in the drawing.

Hey, great drawing. I've been wanting to do just that but the end of the cradle cable is under the bow eye. Need to figure out another anchor point part way up the line. Perhaps splice some cable in somehow. You can see from this pic (one more for ya, Salty! ) the geometry of the thing needs work.
