i have a 65hp mercary serial #4269783 i think the i have a problem in the key switch i have 12 vt on the red @ white wires with the key off. with key on the vt are 0 if i unhook the harness and there is 11.5 vt on the red @ white. so how can i start the motor with the harness unhooked or can it be done ? thanks

On the starboard side of the switch box jump between the red and the white terminals

And this will let the motor start? and if it dose run that means the key switch is bad?

Yes that effectively bypass the ign. switch. Heres a simple test for you system.
