Re: Non skid replacing carpet and more ? ?

I would do it a little different than most, or than maybe you should only because with experiance the time it takes to do it is cut down dramatically.

I would cut the largest piece that would fit and if one piece fits the entire floor I would do it all at one time. It will take you longer to work all the air out and get the cloth wet out evenly, so it may be easier to it in sections.

I cut the cloth to fit, apply some resin to the floor, then lay the cloth down. Add more resin but only enough to wet out the glass, too much resin makes it uneven and weak. A squeegee works well to move the resin around and remove any excess, but don't push down too hard or you'll remove too much. Start in the center and work out to the egdes with the squeegee this will pull out the wrinkles and leave a flat surface. A bondo type spreader will work as a squeegee and use a large one. A roller will help, a fuzzy paint roller will move resin an suck up excess also, a fiber glass roller works for areas that the squeegee can't get into and a brush be be very useful, just get a cheap China bristle type.

I laid the fiberglass cloth down, It went good but have a few more questions. There are a few small air holes in the glass, should I drill a hole and fill with resin? I bought a epoxy primer to go down before the non skid paint and will be painting soon, any pointers? Here are some new pics.........

Good job. Grind out the bubbles and touch up with a patch.
The glass with a bubble under it is not structural or going to keep water out.

Laid down the Blue non-skid, 2 coats. Looks pretty non-skidish and nice. I still have more plans with the back and sides. Here are some drying pics................

Here is the seating I have gone with. I really like the helm chair, it swivels and slides back and forth.. meaning I can flip it around and fish in the seat or whatever. Also the new lounge seats are cool, they lay out into a nice bed and accepted the stock bayliner brackets. There are a few temporaries right now, and other plans with the sides and front. Going to take it out this weekend!
