Re: Novak Outs Rove ... Update
After WW-II, a German citizen was asked "How could you let your government run amok like that?" The answer was "We were just being Good Germans." (Not quoted from source but memory) Is that what you expect us to be? GOOD Americans? To go along with whatever the government says just because they're "The Government"? Lest you forget, WE Are The Government! To allow unchecked power to be so brazenly abused time after time really infuriates me, and for so many of the citizens go along with this war on blind faith alone is as UN-American as it gets. You listen to Rush WAY too much, eepks. Being against Bush has Nothing to do with being For Bin-Laden or Sadaam. I hope they both die long painful deaths! The sooner the better. Maybe you want to be a sheep going along with the flock, but if MY rights are being violated, if MY government is lying to me, if MY government is spying on me, I WANT TO KNOW ABOUT IT! That's the America I was born in, where National Security and Civil Rights are not mutually exclusive terms. Unfortunately it looks more and more as if that's Not the America I am currently living in. Any question of authority is tagged as treason. That's NOT the America I want my children to grow up in. Nor should you.
Where do I get my news? The networks (except the Fox propagandists), NPR, BBC, Yahoo News, PBS, CNN. I don't let people from Air America make my opinions for me. I don't get to listen much anyhow. I don't do Blogs and I don't do Chat Rooms. This is as close as I get to either.
As far as Rove goes, it appears that his "boss" bailed him out by claiming that he authorized the leak. Bullship! He was obviously totally out of the loop. Did Rove do anything illegal? Maybe this civil case will show one way or another. Regardless of the outcome, I want to hear the Truth. So far we've been stonewalled and lied to time and time again. I'm sick of it! You should be too.
This response has gotten way too long, but I need to throw another log on the fire. The Document! Colin Powell held-up the bogus document that supposedly showed that Iraq was seeking Uranium from Niger when he was reluctantly promoting this war at the UN. Who forged that document? To me, that's far more sinister than the outing of Valerie Plame. The author and anyone connected DOES need to go to prison for High Treason and never be let out! The Plame thing is just fallout from that document, along with this insane Iraq war. Without the "Nuclear threat", we wouldn't be there. The "Mussroom cloud" was nothing but smoke and mirrors, and a steadily growing majority of US is really pissed about it.
But if it'll make some of you feel better, okay. I give in. HEIL BUSH!
