Re: Oh Hill, your slip is showing.

I don't agree in their platforms but I think the Dems are all over the republicans at this point.

They are putting forth a diverse array of candidates (flawed but electable, save Hillary) that appear dynamic and agents for change. The key to this election will be the element of change. It will become more and more challeging as the process continues and an actual plan or original idea will be required. Other than raise taxes, run away and kill babies there aint much there.

But the dem's appear to be fresh and articulate (now you can call me a racist) but most of all not what we have now. That is the key. The people are looking for real change. Unfortunately none of the current crop really represent real change, just change back. Someone who can craft a message, put it to the people in a manner understandable, and can present themselves as capable of following through will win. Marxist statements about class warfare only buys votes they already have, but force the true believers to admitting to the belief or mitigating the situation by admitting the smartest person in America is an idiot. Not good either way. But I wouldn't be smiling inside if I were a Republican, their candidates have yet to articulate a message at all.

Hey Pointer, Guess we are on different sides here, (I usually agree with you, but: sure don't here). The only Democrat with both a resume and possibly some valid points is Richardson, but he lacks funding and support from his wildly left party. The current big three: Hill, Bamma, and the Breck Girl are VERY hard left, Bamma does have a record in the State Chamber that is very left wing, (if the MSM decides to tell). Breck Girl is trying hard to be a populist so he'll take your money (like any good lawyer will), and feather his nest creating dependents as good li'l future Democrat Victims, to assure future power. Hill seems reasonable on paper, but she's got some big issues when the rubber meets the road. I'm not a Republican as some here have read my mind and labeled me, but I am an Independant Conservative. The Republicans have far more real options at the Presidential candidate level then the Dems now have, but the country seems to want to loose a war real bad, and that is never good for Republicans, but this can and hopefully will change. Respectfully, (and I mean it), JR

Re: Oh Hill, your slip is showing.

Hillary scares the crap out of me because like her husband she is an accomplished liar. But aside from that I beleive she is just a truely hateful person. Read anything from her bodyguards or the white house staff. Filthy mouthed, hateful, arrogant, and a chameleon. Toss in her total disregard for our laws during her secret meetings to take over the healthcare industry and the comparisons to some of the worlds meglamaniacs seems appropriate.

Obama and Edwards are really socialists. Difficult to find a position where they are not. Scary. But they can articulate a position, as democrats they represent change over the existing party, they are photogenic, come across well on TV, one is black, one looks like he fell off a charm bracelet. They have the liberal media who will coddle them and protect them, and they poll more consistantly but lower than does Fat Bottom Girl. But regardless of how far left they go, they represent change.

The Republicans just don't have a true conservative. McCain? He is clearly left of JFK, and runs with whatever the polls tell him to do. He does not represent a change. PROBLEMATIC.

Rudy has a ton of personal baggage. He is a leader. What he did to change the crime in NYC is nothing short of amazing. His position on abortion is inconsistant with that of a conservative. He did a heck of a job during 9/11. Good on TV, but again not much of a change that would energize the base and motivate the "moderates". He might make a good right leaning democrat.

Romney is the wildcard. But the left wing biggotry regarding his LDS affiliation will create issues. He needs to be more aggressive, and he must present a tangible, trackable, and agressive plan. He could be a wild card, he is conservative, he is experienced, he comes across well on TV, and he has a wonderful family. But he will be attacked for any conservative positions as an agent of non-change. He needs to present very specific, measureable, plans that will continue the positive economic situation while dealing with the war in terms that include victory, and engage the world. Bring Bolton back to the UN. Make the democrats play politics with the ever important love of the world opinion. Puke.

BRING ME A CONSERVATIVE.

Me thinks Mit Romney is a Cornservative, (didn't like his Mass. health plan), but there are always problems somewhere with any politician. The Dems ex Richardson are all pukes, and I would vote for nearly any Republican, (moderate), or even unpredictable like McCain over any current Dem. Now if Zell Miller ran that would be a real delight for me, and I really like what I know of him, but I think he is out of Politics. My $.02. JR
