The National Weather Service’s (NWS) winter storm warning is calling for at least a half-foot of snow in the metro area, starting when rain turns to snow late in the afternoon.

And just to make things interesting, winds of 15 to 20 miles per hour will join in and gust to about 30 mph, the NWS added. In a reminder that this is April, after all, the NWS is telling Twin Citians to be prepared for isolated thunderstorms.

Just finished plowing 16" from the last storm. It's been the snowiest April and 5th snowiest winter. Amazing since we had a late start. We're only 11" from breaking the winter record, which may happen.

Tonites forecast, more Wed. As rogerwa said, this is not funny. I'm ready to leave..................

Weather like this is why we have no street people in Wisconsin, north of the 43rd parallel.


Just saw that update while having lunch. Man I feel for you.
What an 18 hour difference can make in the forecast.

I'll be on the wet side, maybe 1-2 white.
With the rain and runoff, and the wind, I bet by Friday that I'll see some open waters. yeah - the boat is ready might get out this weekend if the rivers aren't over their banks.

Hang tough.

actually got the bike out for a ride yesterday. dry enough so the driveway wasn't mud and warm enough to thaw the ice....tomorrow of course looks like winter will return.

We are getting closer. The ice is really starting to break up on the Winnebago system and I even saw my first pleasure boater out in Winneconne on Saturday. Although dodging ice flows may not be everyone's definition of pleasure. :faint2:

I guess 7 - 11" wasn't enough, they now have upped it to 12" + for us.............. O'yeah, they're talking thunder with this one too.... I know I need to quit whining, but geeeeeeezzzzzzzzzzzzzzz..............

Just saw on the local news, it's snowing at a clip of 3" per hour around Duluth. They did a long range forecast for the states from June thru August. Around the Great Lakes it's supposed to be colder than normal. Jet stream is supposed to stay put where it is now for the most part...

I think that's why they switched to "Climate Change" instead, that way the weather can switch either way and they're still right..... I'm waiting for Global Warming. Where is it??????????out::noidea:

Yeah, looks shaky, but probably par for the course for West Benders. I know some guys from West Bend, been meeting them a couple of times a year at Road America since about 1983. Wouldn't surprise me a bit if it was one of them in that boat.

My trip to Canada is only 4.5 weeks away, and I'm thinking I should take an ice auger.
Will be going 175 miles due north of Ashland. But that is about a 400 mile drive from Ashland, dang big lake I have to go around.

Friend drove through Fremont yesterday. Water is extremely high and the current is wild. He said it looked like the water was over the rock wall at the north end of town. Gonna get worse this week with all this rain.

WI's opener you'll need an auger around here, probably the same for N Mn. They have a lot more ice than us and we have around 17" or so.

Monday I commercial fished for the first time this season. When I shoved off at 0530, it was 39 degrees F and steady 20 kts from NE gusting 30. 5-7 ft waves at the inlet was a chore getting through. Fished for 1-1/2 hrs, came to my senses, and surfed back home. Maybe next week will resemble spring.
