You looked down thru the glass on top, and you never really knew what you would get in the picture.

It wasn’t that long ago you couldn’t give those two stroke ring dingers away. Now they have become collector items

Amazing what some of those old Hondas are worth now. For quite a few years I restored and customized Harley’s and Indians from the 30’s and 40’s. Sold most of my collection 20 some years ago. I had dealings with Bob Markey, owner of Bobs Indian sales and service. He was one of the first guys I knew that started collecting Hondas. Bob has since past on, and his son Robin took the reins. Along with a collection of old American iron, they have a fabulous collection of old Japanese bikes. I probably should have started collecting those as well. Bikes could be had cheap or even free back then.

There are some great museums around. The AMA Motorcycle Hall Of Fame Museum in Pickerington Ohio is a must see if your in the area.
Bills Old Bike Barn in Bloomsburg Pa. Is another neat place. Lots of bikes and tons of cool old memorabilia.

Robin is basically about 2 miles from me. I go there frequently.
He is, maybe arguably, the foremost Indian expert.( he makes fun of Harley) His Honda knowledge is concentrated on early Hondas up to around the early '70's.

YES!! Those guys are like walking encyclopedia of old Indians, If you needed parts he had them and did amazing work. Haven’t been to the shop in close to 20 years.
How cool someone else here knows that place.

Night Life 1972

It was warm 1972 summer evening and I was a 19 y.o. kid working at a Lum's Restaurant as a cook in Sandusky, OH.

I have no idea where I heard the song or how I knew the lyrics, but I did. The place was very slow and it was dark outside. The kitchen area was partially hidden behind a wooden wall, but much of it was visible inside the restaurant.

Nobody around; I was bored and thought of this song, so I started belting it out into the empty restaurant. My voice reverberating off the walls.

When I finished, I heard applause from the floor! It was a couple in the restaurant who were sitting out of my sight! I popped my head through the pass-through area and saw them, mightily embarrassed. I immediately apologized, but they said NO! You were GOOD! And it's a LOT better than the music you hear nowadays!

54 year old memory. Too cool.
