That must be one of those glass type pictures, in good condition.
fun story.

when i moved here to TN, my wife and her family and many others used the phrase 'make' a picture instead of 'take' a picture. Thought is was a fun little local thing.

a couple years later i read up on the history of photography and learned about the egg white and glass and a few other iterations of the process and so yes it was not until the invention and widespread use of pre-made film that it take rather than make, due to the level of work involved in 'making' a pic.

side note - i read that over many visits to the toilet - Uncle Johns Bathroom Reader. Also had a great history of football. That was pre-smart phone....

This picture and one of his father, have been in the family for years.

Have never seen the originals. Thought I heard this one was a tintype. An older picture of his father uses a different process just looking at the quality
