I'm throwing my support behind the woman's Slovakian team. I think that 18-0 loss was a brilliant possum play. Master strategists!

Honestly, that game bugged me a bit.

I don't mind the running up of the score. That is bound to happen, especially in womens hockey. But at some point they should tone down the goal celebrations.

But don't forget, the Slovacks beat Belarus 82-0 in the pre-olympic trials.

Good point about the gals....but the wager aside....as anyone noticed how HOT the gals in the Olympics are? I mean the skiers, the snowboarders...even the curlers. It looks like a continous Coors commercial.

Did some looking at this, as CTV flashed a quick graphic on men's scores from the early years.

Canada Men outscored their opponents

1920 27-1
1924 110-3
1928 38-0
1932 32-4
1936 the Brits cheated and used a bunch of Canadians on their team.
WWII
1948 69-5 and took the gold as they outscored the opposition by 2 goals more than the Czech's (80-18 )
1952 71-14

Then the Russians took over and Canada didn't win gold for 50 years

So hopefully the same thing happens for the womens hockey and Canada gets some competition. Might take a few years but it should happen.

Not sure how to work this into the bet.

Bet is which of the US or Cdn goes further.

And, honestly, based on how Brodeur and Luongo have been of late, I do think Canada is in for a tough time.

The canadians are gonna be tough, as always. If this match-up happens, it's gonna be a great game!!!

IF team U.S.A loses, I would prefer it to be to Canada. But, I believe we will take the gold.

Canada beat them 8-0 but got off to a slow start with no goals in the first.

Canada-Sweden Wow I didn't see the first two periods but the third was great and way to close for comfort. When CTV cut away for advertising right after the best goal chance for Canada with out going to replay I just about died.

Give Sweden a lot of praise they did well
