Omc Cobra fill indicator gasket

Has anyone come up with a better gasket or oring for the level indicator on the top of a OMC Cobra outdrive? I've replaced mine twice and twice it’s leaked. There has to be something better than the overpriced plastic washer from Johnson/BRP.

Are you also changing the ones for the fill & drain plugs? Maybe it's not the dipstick that's leaking. I used to change all 3 every spring.

Yes, I’m changing all three. But the top one keeps backing off and (I assume) letting water in.

Put some thread locker paste or tape.
Mercury drain plug seals work on the OMC plastic junk.
