I have an 1987 OMC 5.7. I am building a new engine and have already pulled the old one as well as the stern drive. With the stern drive out, I have replaced the bellows, greased the u joints, changed the oil as well as the water pump, and removed the remains of the flappers. The zincs are almost new and I have not had any shift problems or performance problems of any kind. Does anyone have any suggestions of anything else I should do or inspect while I have it off ? Once I get things back together, I can try out the Delco EST ignition conversion. Thanks.
