ii will agree they are alot easier to find, rather than rebuilding, for one to rebuild it, with new parts would cost literally an arm and a leg.
and since these units rarely fail, (the intermediate housing that is) there isnt a real high demand for these things, and u can get a real nice one dirt cheap.
I live in washington state, and my intermediate housing, had a bent input shaft to the engine block.
I found a salvage dude, in tumwater, wa his name is patrick, and he has a ton of Intermediate units, outdrives..... everything.
i purchased my PERFECT condition intermedaite housing.... bell housing attached with trim motor.... for 200 bux, and this thing is purty!
also picked up a prop for another 40 bux!
look around they are everywhere!
