Re: Omc Sterndrive Tilt Problem
Hello guys need your help badly. Posted this problem a while ago. Advised may have been faulty relay on tilt motor. Boat is 1989 OMC . I received the relay today and fitted it. Still no movement on the sterndrive. Having spoken with Don and carried out the checks he advised me to do, this is the situation.
The motor on tilt unit is fine, fed direct supply from battery with good result no problem there.
Carried out voltage checks with new relay as instructed by Don. There is definitely power getting to the relay, however when I operate the up/down on the throttle.Nothing. The voltage checks indicate a problem as there appears to be no voltage when there should be.on the output terminals of the relay.. I am now suspecting the wiring at the switch, however I am totally unsure of how to access the wires in the throttle assembly. The outer casing has three screws, the inner has two and there appears to be a bolt head in the inner centre of the throttle itself.I have noted that the battery gauge does move very slightly when I operate the up and down . I need to know what to expect if I start dismantling the throttle assembly as I do not want springs etc flying everywhere. Also are there any limit switches that I should be aware of.\Thanks
