Hi guys! Ya I'm back. I got a tilt question again. I need a thin nylon washer (thrust washer?) in front of the worm gear... I need a new one, will any nylon washer work, even if its a little thicker? My original question for coming here though... I was reading old threads, someone said that there needs to be washers between the hammer coupling and the tilt motor. My book doesn't show the other side. Let me rephrase... somehow... from front to back.... Tilt motor, washer(?), hammer coupling, washer (?) shaft, thin nylon wash, worm gear......... ???

I figured that the part in the pic before the washer and worm gear is the brass bushing?

Side question, I saw a pic of a Tilt LOCK mechanism type lever somewhere while researching, is that a thing?

Thanks !

Update... I actually found thin nylon washers at my local Ace Hrdw. Should I put one behind the hammer coupling?
Also my freaking worm gear shaft is showing a tiny crack starting at the end where it attaches to the hammer coupling. This is my 2nd shaft bought it off ebay years ago used. It seems to be a very weak point in this tilt system. I ran the original down full down switch and the out drive just slammed down and sheered that groved end. So I had to replace it... Now I just tap it down.
I see this on google ---- "
Models from 1983–1985 feature an adjustment screw on the back of the tilt clutch to manage spring compression and proper tension. [1]"
Should I loosen it if I can find it?
