Hey yall, I jus tbought an '81 Skeeter Mag last week. And one of the first things I noticed was that it rode really flat on the water. So I figured that the first chance I got I would adjsut the tilt ( or ist it trim) on the back of the motor. Well, I adjsuted it by two holes and put it in the water. As soon as I got going I figured out that I had trimmed it to far up. I was porpoising, well like a porpois. So as soon as I got ro a really shallow area I dropped it down one hole and it did a little better bust still too bouncy. So once I got home I went ahead and dropped the motor to its original psition. And that when I noticed that the motor was too short.
Now the boat runs just fine on the water, is ther anything I need to worry about.Or will this be OK?

Where is the cavitation plate relative to the bottom of the hull?

The cavitation plate is several inches higher than the bottom of the hull.
I've been using this boat now for a little over a week and have had to settle for the mottor being tilted all the way down. Its not too big a of a deal but except when there is any kind of a chop on the water. since the boat is running flat on the water I get beat up pretty good.
