I have an '02 Silverado crew with an 8 foot box and 8.1 with an Allison. I couldn't get a longer truck, thats all they made. :(

I've always purchased GM products and have been pleased with them. Yes, all vehicles break at some point, you just need to be careful on what you purchase.

See my post above. I believe it's longer than a Silverado. ;)

F-150 - Nice looks, Solid build quality, but fuel mileage is only good if you drive 50 on the highway with the A/C off.
BS.

I drive 80 MPH+, on freeways with speed limits of 75.

I live in Arizona, the A/C is NEVER off!

Buy what you want, but don't lie about facts observed by actual drivers/owners.

I meant in the light duty truck line. That can't be much longer than what I have now.

Just kidding with you! ;)

There's a couple of boating forums where when anydody asks about a tow vehicle the answer is always that they need a one ton V12 diesel dually something or other to pull their jon boat.

I watched the top gear clip. Entertaining, I still will never own a Toyota and it has nothing to to with the reliability or "toughness" of Toyotas.

Sooo..what is your deciding factors when you buying a vehicle????? especially when reliability is not one of them.

As long as I have a choice I will drive a Ford or GM truck. That's all.

The Ford F150 changed drasticly in 2004. With the shocks mounted to the outside it handles and rides smoother than any truck on the market. It also is the only truck with the fully boxed frame, which makes it alot more solid to tow large items. Add in the 300 HP 5.4 liter engine and get it with the lower gear and you can pull that size boat with no problem. I saw a video on how it was built in comparison to GM, Dodge, and Toyota. What an Eye Opener. Nothing compares.

Yes it's a commercial. I think. It's a video you watch on the web, maybe ten minutes long. Obvisouly produced by ford, although the host is not a ford employee I think he is form some magazine. If you want to check it out. www.thetruthabouttrucks.com

It does show you the different components, side by side. I kind of like the video, if your a fan on the other brands you certaintly can argue that the items mentioned are not important or overkill or designed better etc... I think the new F150 is a great truck and it's not based on this commercial it's from driving, riding & towing with one.
I think we will see a lot more of this kind of advertising in the future.

How about the current TV commercial for Ford that calls Toyota a "toy"? If the're really that good they wouldn't have to stoop to calling their competition names.

F-150 over anything. Look at the frame. Fully boxed. Nobody else has it. A BIG deal if you bolt a hitch to it.

I have personally tortured a couple 04+ 150's. They're bulletproof.
I own a 2008 Silverado 1500 4x4 with 5.3 L V8. So just two remarks about the Silverado 1500:

1.) they have drum brakes on the back wheels not the like Ford,

2.) the spare tire thread will not match the 4 tires you are running. I am not talking about just the raised lettere etc, the spare will actually be a different tire. Again, not like the Ford.
