Re: Out drive, water impeller question.
Up date; out drive in place, though the shifter did jam, had to loosen and put on slower.
When I cranked up, the water came up through the impeller, inside to the 3/4 inch water hose before the regulator as it should have.
So I now know the problemis at or above the regulator.
Plan; bypass the regulator with one hose, loosen the hx plate at the front end. Give her a crank up and see if sea water (hose) drains from it. If it does then I must not have found the problem.
I now know water is coming to the HX, so tomorrow with the new hose, water should flow out of the exhaust, and near the transom area ( I believe). If this all works then guess I no longer have a problem!
Will run her a while on the hose and see if the engine stays at a low temp. I don't think it should get to greater than 175 Deg. F.?
I certainly appreciate all of your input particularly Drew's help!
