it would be worth your time to consult with someone who has hull design experience. does it have a typical outboard-hull pad?

i don't think the 900 lbs would do much. boat wouldn't sit stern heavy at rest. i would be concerned with handling. if your hull has a pad but all the weight is up front instead of on the pad...

not to be insensitive, but i wonder if parts from the thousands of destroyed boats on the coast ever make it to the used parts market? no point in wasting it all.

Seems to me like most boats would benefit from having the weight of the engine moved forward a bit anyway. Seems like a cool idea to me if you have the time and expertise. Good luck. :)

Trim tabs might need relocating...to the bow.;)
Put some buckets o'water in the bow and find out.

If it were me, I would sell it as is and get hold of Pennyan tunnel hull in need of repower, they give them away free or cheap around Boston, good ones that just need power. Check craigslist.
