Hi all and thanks for helping me with my other current thread here called "glue vs clip VP SX exhaust bellows".
So now I'm dealing with VP dealer parts dept trying to get bearings, bellows, gaskets and clamps etc. The first thing they ask is "what model is your drive?".
Then the trouble begins. There is no tag at all anywhere on the drive. Why? I don't know. I bought the 99 Chris Craft with 200 hours on it from original owner after the original motor blew due to an oil problem. The original owner had the engine block replaced somewhere and it's an aftermarket block so the numbers don't mean a thing to the vp dealer. I was told that it's an SX C-2 drive from another dealer but he was guessing from pictures. I do have the hull number and volvo checked to see if it was registered in their system and of course its not. I have supplied all the ID #s anywhere on the engine to them and of course they are hesitant to sell parts now because they don't want to "guess at parts". I wish VP would have just stamped the numbers on a few locations rather than a plate that either got corroded off / sanded off / sand blasted off or what ever happened to this one. I will attach pictures and info and I'm pretty convinced yes this is an SX drive... but parts guy want to know "which one". Thanks forum is awesome.
Only info on tags; Volvo Penta Drive Prod# 3868718 / Ratio 1.51 / Type (Left Blank) Serial #T0821144
