It's an 1984 mercruiser 140 IO, If I leave it outside with the OD off will moisture or snow damage the bearing? Seems to me if I grease the bearing it would keep out moisture.

well, i was gonna use wood. but, i'd been wondering why i'd been saving 2 ea., broke in transit, center windshield panels for my aristocraft. just seemed like the thing to use i had on hand...Hey he makes it look good though..Fine engineering![]()
snicker snicker.... not my house. it's the neighbors. mines a plain white bungallo. as for the monster.... it was Halloween. it's one of them blow up with air monsters. there's others too.......What the heck is on your roof with blue legs? A blue monster?....
i needed to service my drive like you, last year. 1st time i'd left the drive off for the winter.. the plastic garbage bags worked fine really. just not quite as mouse proof as the cover. which was my goal. anyways. i wondered how i'd feel about removing it this year and storing it inside. well, since ya gotta take it off year end anyways. it feels like not to bad of idea to just store it inside again. i've deferred maint. to the lower for lack of funds too. it'll get done over the winter. it's also not gonna get stolen. it is really easy to take them off. 5-10 min. and it could be gone.... i see benefits from inside storage myself...it will stay on the following years
