I have a 1988 force 125 model # 1251A8C that according to the voltage guage is overcharging. At idle it reads 12.5 volts. When you give it throttle it steadly climbs to 15 - 16 volts by 4500 rpm's. Changed the rectifier on advice from local dealer. Still overcharging. I have checked the guage and it is working. Dealer suggested I load test the battery for a dead cell. I thought if the battery had a dead cell it would read under 12 volts not over. I will test the battery tonight. I thought the voltage regulator was bad. I don't know if it is in the rectifier on this model or a componet of the Stator. Any help would be appreciated on what is wrong.
