Here is a link to AOMCI(Antique Outboard Motor Club Inc) member You Tube videos regarding 5.5hp and 7.5hp Johnson/Evinrude motors of the mid to late 1950's. A lot of good demonstration and step by step repairs.

Look at PistonPumper's video from 17 to 32. Carburetor, lower unit, and steering handle.

Here is another link to a AOMCI member that post a video on hold to remove the powerhead to drop the lower unit to replace the impeller and return the lower unit back in place.

Great! Glad you finally got her. A good cleaning will help you learn every inch (centimeter) of your motor before you start taking anything apart. Take your time, be patient, ask lots of questions and have fun with it. Good luck!
