I am currently re doing the interior of a new old boat that i just bought. It still has the original old vinyl flooring on it from the 70's in it and as you can imagine it looks pretty rough.
I have the seats getting reupholstered now so I have to start making some decisions on what i want to do with the floor.
All the wood is in really good shape except for the odd drill hole from seats and chips out of it from over the years. My original plan was to make up some PB and cover any hole and chips and make them nice and smooth and then paint it.
Do you guys think it would be a better idea to try and scrape up all the old vinyl? or am i ok to just paint right over top? or even lay a new vinyl floor on top?
I plan on keeping this boat for a while and im spending quite a bit of money having all the seats get re done so i definitaly dont want it to look like shotty work. I recarpeted my other boat last year, but i think its time for something different so im hoping not to do it again.
Anyways, any tips are always appreciated.. also a recomendation for the type of paint i should get would be nice as well.
Thanks in advance!
