Background: http://www.iboats.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=28;t=021495

I have a 1973 135hp Evinrude. I've been told by my mechanic that my cylinders are scored and have some bad reed valves. While I have reason to believe that he's just guesssing, I'm also thinking that it would be good to get some spare parts for if/when things do need help on my motor. Here are some things that came up on ebay and I'm wondering if this Johnson is compatible with my Evinrude:

Here's what's for Sale:

Parts from a 1973 135hp Johnson with Powershift II.

Model 135esl73m
sn j3878256

Here is the listing for the reed valves:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=50439&item=24762 40304&rd=1

Listing for the block: (looks to be in bad shape)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2476240077

Here is the listing for another set of reeds that didn't sell. I'm in touch with the seller. Would this work on mine? I've asked for seriel number:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/ebayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2476247520

Do you guys with experience have any idea if this stuff might be usable for me if my cylinders do end up being scored or reeds bad? Seems like the block would cost enough with shipping to make it a bit of an investment for not knowing the condition, but I'd like your input.

Ted

P.S. I hope to get my boat back from the hospital today or tomorrow
