PB. What is it?

I have been looking Round on here and have seen members useing peanut butter. From what I understand it's nothing more than fiberglass cut up really fine and mixed with resin. Is that correct? Foes that mean that I can take some fiberglass matt and cut it up with scissors and mix with resin? What kind of consistency should it be when mixing?

It is also tasty on toast!...sorry couldn't resist...you can buy fibers pre-chopped and save yourself the headache of tearing it into tiny pieces.

i dont know what the guys that posted above are talking about... !!

PB....is short for peanut butter....really...it is...

some like jiffy.....some like kraft....its up to you...



but ....when using it for boat building.....different types are used for different reasons....some structural....some for fairing....some for just filling gaps.

the term peanut butter......is used for the consistancy of a polyester fiberglass resin cabosil/milled fiber/(what ever else you want to put into it) to make up what you are using it for.
very generally speaking.....when you mix it.....the fillers are added to the resin till you have the consistency of peanut butter.
