Re: pee hole not peeing??
dont want to be a bearer of bad news, but,I suggest you pull the thermostats out and chek everthing there, including the poppet valvesthat are part of that unit, its located at the rear base of the block,2 hoses and held by 3 bolts that make that shifter pin look like cake,as for all these bolts including the shifter,I like to use 1/4 drive swivel head sockets, they are not made by every tool maker, but craftsman started making em a few yrs back, the shifter pin can be put in place with one of the grabber tools, has a couple fingers on the end,you can get them at any tool or auto store, its easier if the cable is disconnected, you can also grab the shift rod either under the powerhead pan ,under the carb area or down by where it enters the lower unit under the motor mounts, look for it you will find it,with a vise grip or a strong needle nose you can persuade the shifter to do what you want, another trick, put a piece of paper in your socket so the shift pin cant sink in,then pack it with grease ,the grease will hold pin from falling out,if you use a swivel, put some tape on the universal part so it doesnt swivel so much,to get at the thermo bolts, its sometimes wise to remove the bolts that hold the pan up,at least in the rear, they are located just forward of the heads, usually 7/16 head,
