How could she? She is void of such character herself!
So pelosi wants to "raise the minimum wage", huh?
Right. Read this:

In its old "Charley the Tuna" ads, Starkist used to say that it doesn't want tuna with good taste, but rather tuna that taste good. To the extent that Starkist doesn't want House Speakers with good taste, it seems to have what it wants in Nancy Pelosi.

The conglomorate that owns Starkist, Delmonte, is headquartered in Speaker Pelosi's district in San Francisco. Starkist processes large amounts of tuna in American Samoa. Apparently, 75 percent of the island's workforce is employed by Starkist.

It happens that American Samoa is the one territory exempted from legislation passed by the the House that will raise the minimum wage over time from $5.15 hour to $7.25. The reach of that law extends even to the islands of the Northern Marinas, but not to American Samoa, where Nancy Pelosi's giant constituent will be able to keep paying its workers $5.15 an hour

Rep. Pelosi's husband owns 17 million shares of Del Monte. (That's right-17 MILLION)

Can anyone say: Oops!

Probably a little quiet around the Pelosi dinner table tonight. Probably won't be serving Tuna Helper.8)

Any comments from the left?

predictable response.

I did read the rest of the article, rolmopth... And I immediately thought of you ,PW and a few others. I thought you'd be interested an example of the blatent lack of morals we are sure to be submitted to in the next 4 years.
I know you think such behavior is ok as long as it's liberal immorality in office. And I'm sure we can count on drive-by media to bury all of it, each and every time...
However, If she DOES get called-out, exhonoration will be a phone call away. After all, "no laws have yet been broken", have they?
Again -- Predictable.

Even Rangel is upset with her!

MSN even reports ethical depravity of the democrats

It is only understandable that everybody is trying Pelosi's strength and there will be a lot of sparring in the next few weeks until the lines of power have been drawn clearly.
As for Pelosi being a pawn to big industrial interests..I would not be amazed at all if she is.She has worked in a very corrupted atmosphere and there are really not very many reasons to believe that that she is any more or less corrupt than the average politician in this country.
However, seeing how you have steadfastly defended very corrupt republicans and even claimed them to be honest people who were victimized by the media, are really not in position to judge the other side, because your judgement is subjective to say the very least.

This is not about tuna, it's about red herring.

I think you'll find that i pretty much judge anyone I care to. I think you'll find that I form independant decissions, and you can do little to change that.
I have no love for corruption in office. I think you'll find that that not many people don't, be they "arch conservatives", ( i always liked that one :) ), or liberal appologists. Curruption is corruption. The rise and fall of the Roman empire rose and fell because of corrupt scum.
You will now need to name one "very corrupt republican" {that I} "even claimed to be honest people who were" {NOT} "victimized by the media, that I have steadfastly defended."
Oh, not that you won't TRY. But in retrospect, you will discover you and those who champion the left have failed in all cases where drive-by media hits were waged without the substance of actual corruption. And you will fiond that when it was brought-up here, I always stated that "I will wait for the verdict to form my opinion". But now? LOL. The shoe is indeed on the other foot. I plan to form my opinion without recourse. You will now know what it is like. :)
Enjoy.

After all, it was and is the drive-by's PRIMARY duty to the movement they fight so hard for. News? We don't need no stinking news.

And you get what you paid for.

As for me claiming media bias in many, many cases, of course, you're correct. Because anyone who does NOT see examples of media bias in every venue known to man -- is a dupe for this type of corrupt politician.

In the meantime, I place you on notice that I will be watching every putrid step they make, and WILL be posting my findings here.
Brace yourself, rolmops.

Footer, why are you surprised? All animals are equal, some animals are more equal than others. We now know where the people of American Samoa stand with her highness.

This isn't even a case of big business mixing with government if she owns millions of shares. IT IS CORRUPTION FOR PERSONAL GAIN.

Again, liberals cannot admit when they have a turd in the punchbowl. Blind, stupid loyalty. A liberal requirement. Do those people realize exactly how stupid they sound when the defend bad behavior?

"Effective October 1, 2003, this minimum wage for this industry was $3.26 per hour, which is substantially below the U.S. minimum wage." So WHO was it that was in power when THESE wages were put into force?? Pelosi? A Dem congress? No, it was the what's-his-name and his pals. Remember them?.....:$

Hot off the press!
This is one of the few instances that all the Rehub whining about raising the minimum wage actually rings true.....
It will most likely devastate the local economy......
I do question the why these flyspecks in the middle of nowhere should have the same rights as states.....
I'm curious to see what transpires.....

That awesome haut! Nothing a cornered rat wouldn't do. I believe Ken Lay tried the same thing. I guess we can all go back to our hero worship of her now. I do find it funny how the story failed to report Lil' Nancy's stock holdings in Del Monte. I can't imagine why.
