Re: Pelosi doesn't want tuna with good taste....

Hey Haut,

Spare me any future comment about drilling in ANWAR. How many people live there? How about North Dakota Not even a million people live in that vast expanse. Fewer per square mile than in Somoa. Guess they don't have to follow the law. Your logic is difficult to understand. I don't think I have seen as many contradictions in one post as I have seen here. FYI, New York is a small Island. So is Key West.

You are right. A rock solid leader like lil' Nancy should be able to destroy the lives of 40-60 thousand people if it is politically expediant. Just another reason not to vote Democrat. A solid committment to a failed belief. 8)

What am I gonna have to give geography lessons now?
FYI, it is 5000 miles from LA......
& like 2000+ from Hawii......
Must I point out that North Dakota, Alaska & Key West are all states (or) within a state?......;).....JK

There is still time for the Rehubs. to beg her to reconsider.....
She tried to do the right thing & the Rehubs. won't let her......
An incredible piece of bad luck for Samoa, IMHO....:'(
In my first post, I said they should apply for statehood....;)

I never said a word about Cheney & Haliburton in this thread...
OK, so the rules are that only comments made within a thread should be considered as one's opinion. Got it.

Samoa was excluded because of its fragile economy....
OH, so fragile economies can be negatively affected by a a hike in the minimum wage . . . I wonder what happens to big ones

also note that we shouldn't care because it is a tiny island . . .
Yep, that's what I am sayin'.....
Got it. What size economy or Island is required for you to care? I was gonna send you a shovel to help you dig yourself out of that hole, but I'm thinking 245 Excavator minimum . . .

I can't recall mentioning Cheney or Haliburton for quite a while....
When does the statute of limitations run out on opinions, or do I have to divulge that information of my own accord......o:)

When all ya got is two canneries & a government as employers, I'd say that was fragile, Oh & 5000 miles from the mainland.....]d:)

The industries that don't have minimum wage jobs offset the effect......
Hope this clears up any confusion for you.....d:).....JK

I thought that most of them worked for del-monte, not quite the government now is it? And how far is Hawiaii? Guess they shouldn't get the raise either using your logic

So what if it was in the drug companies or oil instead of del-monte? I seem to recall you not liikng the drug companies making money. Tell me what the difference would be.

I really don't expect a response

one for me QC , or did I already have one?

Apparently just after an election . . .

Treebuddy, Haut, BoatBouy and rolmops were the original four conspirators :} s The other thread about Dems in charge definitely has Halliburton and Cheney all over it. Haut, your guilt is by association . . .

Earth to Haut, earth to Haut... Crunch to Haut.... what has got into you since I left 4 days ago? Seems like you have a new mission. Has the Democratic take over of the Congress warped your mind?

Will you really defend your wild ass ideas?

Can we really have a serious debate?

Are you really ready to "face the fire"?

Flippant “noone” knows just won't do from here.... it's kinda, put up or shut up time.... or you can go back to what you were. :p

Hey, a little off the subject but can a place like Somoa join, be annexed, or become part of say Hawaii? Not actually becoming a state on their own but joining none the less? I would have to assume they can, I think Wisconsin had to give up the UP to Michigan.

The only person that mentioned Cheney in that entire thread was Boom....
Guilt by association?
Once again, I love it when Rehubs stoop to the levels & tactics that they claim only Dems can reach....8)
Have you no sense of decency, sir? :$

Pointer, I don't know the answer, my guess would be no.....

Ohh, I'm just going to flap my gums........ You are always so flippant about world problems, so funny about what concerns us all...

So I was just wondering if you meant real change with Libs,or if things were going to go back just like they were, or worse...

Tell us about your new solution for the war on terror, tell us how "w" was so wrong and how you would set things right. How you would fix an Economy that needs no fixing. How you would use a "political solution" instead of armed force to win in Iraq, and save all of us from another 9/11.

Go on... enlighten us. I really do want your solution... don’t make us await with bated breath. :p

Keep digging Eric you’ll find something sometime that I wont find a loophole in.

Tufts Drug Study Sample Is Skewed; True Figure of R&D Costs Likely Is 75 Percent Lower
Public Citizen Critiques Tufts Study Pegging New Drug R&D Costs at $802 Million
WASHINGTON, D.C. – A new study claiming that the average cost of developing a new prescription drug is $802 million once again significantly overstates real research and development (R&D) costs, according to an analysis by the national consumer group Public Citizen. The study in question was prepared by the Tufts Center for the Study of Drug Development and was released in Philadelphia on Nov. 30.
The Tufts Center study has two dramatic flaws, according to Public Citizen. First, it is not representative of real drug industry R&D because none of the 68 drugs used in the Tufts study received any government support – a fact admitted by the study’s author, Joseph A. DiMasi, at a Nov. 30 briefing on the report. Many, if not most, drugs brought to market receive financial support from the government at some stage in their discovery and development. Therefore, the Tufts study focuses on a skewed sample of drugs and inflates the actual cost of R&D for the average drug.
