For those that care, Murphy was trying to mess with me yet today, so you are still safe John! Returned the muffler and was going to walk out with a cheaper Cherry Bomb muffler when I realized it was 3 inches too short! So, I returned it before I even got out of the parking lot, went to NAPA and got an OEM replacement muffler. Got home and had everything layed out to put the exhaust in and the catalytic converter pipe wouldn't go over the Y pipe
Thought for a second that they were matching O.D. pipes until I realized that they had cut the pipe with a wheel ( like you cut copper pipe with ), so it had a horrible burr. I filed and pounded that out, took a big ol socket and a hammer and flanged it a bit and it went on nice and snug. Fit the rest of the components on, did some shimmying and then clamped it off, put in the O2 sensor and fired it up. Purrs like a kitten with a bad heart valve
( I need to change my timing chain/tensioner ). My dogs won't know when I'm coming home now!
