Yup, you're wrong. Don't you ever watch Overhaulin' ? Foose lays out tape and paints second colors all the time! Get the green tape for broad coverage and pinstriping width tape for the edges and running contours. If you give the paint the heat treatment, it'll be dry enough in a day or two for tape. Paint the second color and then pull the tape off slowly after the paint has set up.

As long as you have good adhesion the paint will hold and not come off with the tape, and the green or purple stuff is so low tack that it shouldn't pull the paint off anyway.

The fein saw is a brand and I'm not buying a Fein...too expensive, but I want something similar for doing plunge cuts for some of the things I want to do to the boat ( and it's really nice to have for other projects I get into around the house. )

Tell me if i am wrong here , please tell me I am wrong !!! But seeing that I am doing 2 colors I am going to have to tape up where I want to do the red!! I am thinking I want to start with the red.

Am I going to have to wait 3 weeks for the red to fully cure before I peal the tape ??? Or do you think like after a week of it baking with the lamps on her , Will I be able to peal the tape and then re tape her for the White !!!! What do you think Steve, Mike ,Ward,Jody ???????? TD please chime in your the one that has worked with the rustoleum !!!!
Please tell me its not going to have to wait 6 weeks ???


OK I got from the transom to the helm on the bottom !! there are still 3 spots that I need to clean up and there done !! the two side corners in the splash well, the last 2 feet going to the bow on the port side !! the rest of the bottom!!!

My hands are still tingling , My arms and shoulders are felling it , I would go with the hand sanding till I couldn't hold it any more then wen with the flat board , and then the nematic !!!! OOOhhh also have to move the jacks and do there !!!Kind of wish I turned down the overtime tomorrow !! She would have been done !!!

Ok guys PLEASE TELL ME I AM WRONG !!!! PLEASE !! lol John

I'd be careful baking that blue tape john. I'd get it off as soon as i could. Otherwise it could be a pain and then you'd have to mess up the new paint job. We don't want that.

OOOH MY GoD there isn't any more white lumps on my boat any more

LOL Well thats not totally true, in the splash well just the two corners , and most of that is smooth !!!! got home here and hit the port side , then the splash well , did that till I couldn't hold the paper no more !! and then went at the bottom !!!!!!!!!!!

OHH and have to move the jacks yet !!!

Man my arms !!!!and hands !!! LOL

Still got to long board the port side and the bottom , then YEEEAAA HAAAA time to clean !!!! lol John

john if you have watched overhaulin then you also notice that he paints the base color first paint the white go beond where you need it then when it's dry you can tape on top of it for the red. no need to tape at all on the white except for the things that are not getting paint at all. paint the white first pecause going over white with red will be easy to cover going over red with white ...... well it will be ok if you like pink lol this is what i go when i two tone a car

I really need to start putting some time aside to work with Photoshop some more, but darn it if I'm not starting to get O/T at work all of a sudden! I'm not going to complain, I need the money to finance the work I want to get done on the boat this year!
