I really need to start putting some time aside to work with Photoshop some more, but darn it if I'm not starting to get O/T at work all of a sudden! I'm not going to complain, I need the money to finance the work I want to get done on the boat this year!

OHH yea I hear you Mike , If i dont get the o/t it really does make things tight !! Just wish it came on a more consistence basis , did get 10 hours this week !!! wish it was like my wife 10 to 20 hours of over time a week !!she get to to a lot of it from home !!!

And we all cant wait till you get your thread going !!! Is your snow gone yet ?? was talking to the father-inlaw yesterday and he's still got 2 feet , Munsing MI

Hurry up! With Pics!

"SS Hurry Up" Is what I named my boat... Somehow it's funny telling my friends, co-workers and family to Hurry Up with everything... Joking of course... So hence the name...

BTW. Were getting 2-6 more inches of the white crap Saturday!

All the 5 lakes in Madison are OPEN! Ice is gone! Saw white caps on Lake Mendota yesterday....

man i just got done reading every page of your thread. this is awesome. And i agree with everyone else about the pics...i am looking to you for inspiration for my boat man LOL Just be glad in this day and time that you can get called into work early and work for ten hours. some of us are sitting at home jobless or layed off for weeks at a time. I am sure that would help get our butts off the couch and out to fix our boats but we just cant get the better halfs of us to understand we need to spend the money for food to put a new floor in the boat..LOL

OK all

lets try this again , just spent the last hour writing to you guys with pics and and all , and lost it all $@##$@%$%%

lol OK well I was thinking about the primer the other day and I remembered that someone said that Lowe's would special order the primer for me !!! well I thought I would run over there on my lunch hour , well i went to work and on brake theres a true value across the street , thought why not , [ I like the owner, he took over from mom and dad ] well sure enough he will have it here Tuesday !! 20 bucks , but thats OK !!!!!

So yesterday was a long day , I was kind of tired when I got home and well my middle brat was picking on me and trying to take me down !!! well dad had to show her hes still dad !!! lol well needless to say by the end of that we both were tired!! [ man i feel sorry for her husband , she going to be able to kick his butt ] lol we ended up watching a movie , thats why no pics yesterday !! lol

So I got home from work today and got out there , and thought I really wanted to marine tex just a couple spots !! lol I swear these are the last of the texing !!!!!! LOL

OK heres the first pic it in the splash well looking at the port side , in the lower right you can see a little divot , this is the type of holes I am talking about !!OOOHHHH and this is after I sent a hour wiping her down 3 times , one was acetone,

this next is the transom where the top meets on the port side !!! you can see a couple divots in there , I didn't want to sand this down any more , its close to shape now , so I wanted to just fill the holes !!! \

This next is the corners in the bottom of the splash well that I have been hand sanding, this side is the worst

this next is the same pic just looking straight down at it

Infarct the starboard side wouldn't even show up on camera , what i have to sand !!! that side is petty close !!
OHHH as I was wiping it down on the transom with a wet towel , man did it shine all ready!!! she is going to be sharp !!!

heres the post side, look where the cables come out the hole , you can see i texed in the hole on top of the knee brace !!!

OK here the pain in the butt crack !!! hahaha you can see just on top of the curve you can see the yellow , well theres a Little divot there ,

then in the bow on the corner you can just see a couple spots that i missed !!

then the bottom she still dusty and there is 3 small spot that i missed !!

and heres the keel !! not to bad yea ???

and heres a pic just of the back of the keel , man it turned out really sweet !!!! nice and flat !!!

So I got till noon on Tue and the primer will be in so this will keep me busy , as i fill all them spots with TeX !! John

It was really hard Mike there is a white semi gloss and a red semi gloss !!!! lol so thats what i got !!

Hay you painted before when i am primering a friend was telling me that after i get a coat of primer down to take a spray can and stand back and just sprinkel the primer with another color and then quit sanding as soon as i hit it ?? is that right ??? John

Hi all

Got home here from work and went out and checked the TeX. Well it still wet in a few spots. I put it on last night and turned all the light out and it got to 30 in there last night so it didn't harden at all , so cranked the heat up in there and stuck the light next to the spots that didn't cure !!! they will be hard by morning !!

Get to pick up the primer tomorrow , still got a little bit of grinding to do !!!!! Man can't wait, I get to start Painting her !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wed, I am going to be premiering !! thinking tomorrow will be cleaning after I get done grinding !!!! John

The common theory is to primer, then mist the area with black and then sand lightly with the long board, etc until you have areas that show up primer color only and then stop. You'll see the low points highlighted by the black. Oops had a section on that when he was longboarding the gel coat.

I'm starting to get myself psyched up to get the transom going on my boat soon.

In my post yesterday remember how I said my TEX wasn't hard yesterday !!!! well It still wasn't this morning !!!! Murphy Has Been Sitting Out In My Boat For The Last Two Days Laughing At Meeeeee !!!!

I wasn't feeling great Sunday after I got home from work and didn't feel Good At all yesterday , Lets just say I was sitting on the can way toooo Much !!!!!!

Well When I mixed the Tex , I just dug out the last remaining little bit that was left in a old can, and just mixed it in the hardener jar. Well thought there was enough of it left in there and didn't add any !!! well there sure wasn't!! jUST Spent the last two hours cleaning the 9 spots !!!! cleaning then , used that stuff goop be gone , it really work petty well remember that one guys !! and then hit it with acetone, then sanded them again!! then acetone again, and Texed them AGAIN !!!!!!

So I guess theres not going to be any priming this next two days !!!! &$^^$&&**((((&&(&(*&())_ lol I Am going to get out there and finish the bottom and the port side , just really have to long board them !!!And move the jacks !!

And this afternoon run and get then primer !!! MURPHY !!! lol John

Oh, man that really sucks when the mix is off. Sounds like you did a good job recovering. I don't have my jar of Marine Tex in reach, but I think it says to clean up with alcohol. I remember wiping down the boat with alcohol right around the time the Tex started to set to get off any sloppy spills, etc.

Yep it sure does Mark !!! I would have been done with her today !!! but I'm not !!! ;[ I did get the bottom all long boarded , and she sure is sweet !!!!!! the port side is all long boarded, and looking really good !!! there is two spots on the bottom that I had to marie tex ThIS morning !!! man that really stunk this morning !!

So tomorrow i got the transom and the slpash well to sand then start cleaning . I will get some pics in the morning , my arns are falling off again !! man I am going to be buff by the time I get done with her !!!!!!!!! hahahahah

I did run and get the primer this afternoon , after a hour nap !!! lol It white rust-oleum primer, and it says 4 hour and it can be sanded at 50 degrees !! so thats really cool !!!!

OHH yea Mike I was looking at the other rust-oleum and its Semi gloss white and gloss red , so the red is really going to pop !!!!

And Steve the wife said sat , is fine , want me to bring any thing ???

Ok all hands are hurting , lol John
