Hi Slypher,

I'm in Slidell also. Been meaning to change my location info but just remembered when i saw yours. We usually run up and down the East Pearl with the kids and wakeboards, tubes, etc. Just me and my wife we usually cruise Pontchartrain. Maybe we'll see you out there.

Here in Atlanta, its still warm enough, but the lakes are so low due to the severe drought most of the ramps are closed. Saying we have about 120 days of water left before the lake (Lanier) is dried up. I boat on Lake Allatoona (West of Lanier) and it is lower than normal as well and I'm not sure I can launch my new 24' boat, which is killing me because I've only had it out 3 times since I bought it; ugh

Same here in NC, the lakes are dried up, saying they will be empty by Jan.

Its still warm though, and I can still drive about an hour towards VA to get on one large lake that has plenty of water.

Re: Pics for those already winterized ....

Last week the NM gov was campaigning for the feds to force the Great Lake states to ship water to the southwestern desert. Normally this would be totally abhorent -- he can enjoy Great Lakes region water all he wants -- just move here.

But I was thinking -- it might be a worthwhile trade for us to share a little water if he could forgo January - February warmth and sunshine and send it our way. Something like for every Jan - Feb day over 80 degrees and 12 hours of bright, cloudless sunshine, we'd be willing to send him x gallons of water. Of course, he'd have to document that it came from him, and that he got the -10 degrees and only 7 hours of daylight we normally get then.

AFTER we moved to Kalamazoo area 14 years ago, we found there is only one town in the US with less average sunshine (i.e. not cloudy days) -- and that's some little town in Alaska. Even Pacific NW gets more sunshine than here.:(

Somewhere has less sunshiney days then Seattle? You guys must all look all wrinkled up like you been in the tub for a couple of hours!! I was stationed in Ft. Lewis (Tacoma, Washington - just south of Seattle) for 2 years and I swear it rained (light mist - barely enough to call rain) or snowed every day except for one week during the spring!

Looks real nice this weekend too. Mid 80's again, no clouds. Hoping to cruise over to Madisonville this afternoon, maybe the East Pearl tomorrow.
