Re: Plastic vs Rubber hub
Rodbolt, In 30 years of boating, I have only had two hubs fail on me. Both just seemed to wear out, since I didn't hit anything. One happened in 1999 on an original prop on my old pin drive '58 Johnson, so I forgave it. The other on a cold day in November, on a two-year old Rapture. This I find hard to forgive.

I guess the question is, should a rubber-hubbed prop on a normal motor ever fail due to motor power alone?

PS I hit a lot of sand and silt, but never spun a hub.
