A friend from a while back was killed today. Scotty Neil was shot during a training exercise by a fellow officer. Please keep his family as well as the shooters in your prayers. Scotty worked for Mexia (pronounced Ma hey a)Police Dept as an school resource officer. Small town of about 6000 were I grew up and parents still live. Really upsetting to everyone.

PS- Antigunners- Start a new thread to bash the guns, let Scotty's memory be all thats contained here.

same for me. Know officers that have been through the exact same thing. It is very hard to get past! Prayers to all involved and their families.

Sorry about the bad news. It seems like that same thing happened somewhere else just in the past few months, best I remember it was a woman officer last time, and her firearms instructor who accidently shot her. Maby it was in Abilene? I cant remember. but its bad all the same, for everyone involved. again my condolences to all. lwr

Like others my heart goes out to the fellow officer and his family also. Sometimes bad things happen to good people. Maybe sharing this post with them will help.
Best Wishes..

Link

Ken, Really sorry but have noticed your hawkish remarks in the past on troops. Death is a terrible thing only worse when close to home.

Sincere condolences KB. Always sad to see a public servant pass because of accidents.

tx....don't often say much here, but....you really need to edit or delete your post. Just not appropriate.

Ken, I also hate to hear of loss of a public servant, police, fire or military. My smart remark was out of line because of your personal relationship and for that I do apologize. Mexia is a close knit town and their loss will be felt by all and I am sure Scotty will be well remembered.

Re: Police Officer killed

The difference is that KB or the officers family is not using that officers death to make a statement(JB trying real hard not to get personal). Everyone on the force knows the risk. And I'll bet you that everyone felt compassion for Mrs. Sheehan for her sons death. But in no way did KB use this officers passing to make a statement of any kind, unlike Mrs. Sheehan.

And since you don't know me let me inform you, I'm as independant as you can get I do not follow any party lines, I speak my mind. I believe we should have never gone to Iraq but now that we are there any critism is detrimental to troop moral and I will never be accused of undermining the troops who are giving up a lot for what they do. I don't care what you think about the war in Iraq but we are there and any critism has got to effect the troops, so sit down and shut up, and complain all you want when it's over.
