I have the same size -
Been a carpenter for 40+ yrs & i just bought one of those $595 alu. carports installed ---For another $100 you can have a double--- You can have it walled on the sides or ends or whatever you want. Trust me, you can't buy material & build one for near that!

I had a custom shed built for mine. It's not one of those cheap car ports you see all over the place. The poles on mine are concreted into the ground so the wind won't carry it away. The shed now has gravel/chat floor.

Very nice but same style materials & construction methods-- The "carport" can be altered to the same methods or upgraded to "better" material ---
Just sayin-

I like that idea but I can get wood materials for free, I just didn't know how high is it worth it to have it were you can stand up in the boat in it or just pull it out and work on it?

If your framing material is free then by all means build your own!
Sheeting is really not that much if you have a dealer within driving distance-
It's very nice to have it covered where you can "mess" with it-
I'm retired & few days go by when I don't do some little thing to mine----

The building on the left is one of those cheap carports and I can tell you the new boat shed is made from thicker material. When he bid the shed I did request thicker materials be used and was I shocked at the price difference. The price was close to 35% more with the thicker materials.

I had them build it tall so I didn't have to lower the bimini top every time I put it in the shed and also to be able to walk around the boat while it is in the shed. The shed is A 18X36 and 16 feet tall at the sides and cost $6200 and change.

Grins , I would love to have a shed to put mine in during the winter but for now its a good dock cover. I keep mine on a slip boss so I am forced to go to the lake often to tinker with mine. :D
