I have a 1994 Evinrude 80 jet
(115hp),Model#E115JKLERS with a bad cylinder. With the advise of members of this board ( Smart people),I bought a 1983 115hp(prop motor)mod#E115TLCTE that runs great. The idea is to swap the powerheads.I have a dilema however. The jet has a tuned exhaust cover (bubble back)and the earlier motor does'nt(flat back). It was suggested that I put the tuned cover on the early powerhead,(to make more hp.) which makes sense, but should I swap carbs also to maintain the proper mixture, or will it make a difference ??
Thanks for the help
Bill
