I have power but no power trim. Never had any issues before just all the sudden. its a 1990 chaparral 2050 with a omc 4.3 liter. Any idea's? PS i tired to jump the contacts to see if there was a wiring issue no luck there.

On my (93 5.0 OMC) there is a rubber connector left side high, it has 3-wires, I bumped loose changing the Alt belt, white-red striped,2-white green striped, no noise, no click, nothing. Found it, plugged back together, (was not tottally loose) bam, problem solved.

Not sure, but I think this is the setup you have.

i took it all apart and cleaned the motor and reinstalled it and it works good. But now i can not get it to lift or lower the drive, it did take about a quart of fluid! is there air in the system and if so how do i get it out?

Mine has a screw adjustment on the side of it to be able to manually lower or raise the outdrive. If this screw is not adjusted all the way in, the outdrive will not raise or lower by way of a powered switch, but it will still make noise when the switch is pressed. Not sure if yours has the same release screw, but I would check to see.
