Hope all goes well for Ethan, glad to know you guys are able to get some of the best doctors to help out down in Ann Arbor.

That Cabela's in Dundee is a great place to spend some time, our two boys love hanging out there too

Looking forward to hearing good news and a prompt return to normalcy.

wow--just found this thread. positive thoughts coming Ethan's way from the land of the roadrunner! hey, he comes from stock that's Tough Enough to Beat Old Tin, a little surgery won't even faze him.

Jas, remind him he's lucky he's not getting the full transom and floorboard replacement and that there are fish waiting for him out there that dwarf anything he saw in the Cabela's, but he needs to get through this so he can go catch em

and remind yourself that there are a lot of people out there who care about you and him even if'n we never done met you and we're just a bunch of bottom feeding tinheads...

8 straight hours of surgery, docs are awesome, wife is awesome, Ethan is resting, we'll be in ICU for at least a few days yet. He is going to be ok, yah he is going to be ok!

Amazing news. I cannot fathom sitting and waiting for 8 hours while my son's brain was operated on. What a nightmare. So glad everyone came through it ok! The doctors and parents are indeed amazing.

great to hear it! EZ is right, you and wife are 2 tough cookies. can't imagine having to wait while you have so little control over something that important.

sounds like you need to go buy that young fellow a boat when he gets out..... and take the entire OR team some fish from next season's forays!

You guys are awesome!

E is resting at the moment and Jen is off to bed too.

The big stuff we are watching for is spinal/brain/cfm fluid leaking as well as fever so we aren't out of the woods just yet. Though, I feel about 1000X better than I did this morning!

Today was the longest day of my entire life and the most difficult stuff I have ever had to do, bar none.

Fatherhood teaches you some amazing things about yourself. I'm pretty sure fatherhood saved me from myself.
