Question,
My engine quit in the middle of the lake the other day, several miles from the dock. While observing the motor I noticed the solenoid spit fuel out into the motor compartment. I am thinking I have a clog somewhere? or perhaps the solenoid is bad? I have replaced the plugs with L82c which is a hotter plug than original equipment. I pulled each of them and they were all wet, I dried them the best I could but it did not work. Maybe they are bad again? I will replace them anyway but am baffled by the engine quitting. I suspect a clogged carb but am not sure. I don't think this would cause the engine to quit like it did. Thanks for your help in advance.

Where is the solenoid spitting fuel from?? The hoses?? The solenoid is spring loaded in the closed position. Might be as simple as a busted fuel line that feeds the primer solenoid. That would deplete the entire system of fuel pressure, if it were a big enough leak.
