Problems with Coors Lite?

They now have these cans that change color when they reach a certain temp in the fridge.
Well I have been drinking CL for quite some time and all of a sudden my teeth fillings started aching like I had a toothache. Even one back tooth(without a filling) started bothering me like it was a sweet tooth pain. Just air hitting them would start pain. Now my fillings are getting worn and cracked after all these years but never had any pain before like this for no reason. Only have 3 fillings
So I went back to Bud lite and the problem slowly went away. Could something that activates those cans also be bothering dental work? No problem at all now that I switched beers.
Anybody else experiencing this?

The only thing that triggers the coating color change is temperature. That said It could be something in the coating it's self, but that's a WAG.

Thanks for the input. Ya most of the time when the pain would happen was out on the boat when I would breath in the cool evening air. But it wasn't limited to that. Just seemed the filling were much more sensitive to air, cold drinks and chewing food.

I think the Coors is just a coincident. I'm affraid you're going to need root canal done on those teeth and be fitted with a crown on top. I hope you got really good dental insurance. With my crappy dental insurance, a root canal and crown cost me 800 bucks out of pocket. That was for just one tooth.

Try changing tooth paste to something that is good for sensitive teeth,
the wife did and the tips of her teeth are not as sensitive to cold or hot as they were, some how eating chedder cheese helped when we were on the boat:confused:

Re: Problems with Coors Lite?

That is what I was thinking. That I needed a root canal and/or sensitive teeth toothpaste. Self employed, so I only have health insurance.
But then, I quit the coors lite and switched back to Bud lite and the problem went away. Now I still can't bite down with crackers etc on that side without it hurting. I can live with that because I can chew on the other side. Some times things like grit etc get on the other side and Yowza!! The dentist knows about that side of the problem and just puts it off like I do.
The top tooth without the filling stopped bothering me and so did the fillings part when I stopped the coors lite. The top no filling tooth hurt the worst as I was drinking CL
Anyway if it is just me with this problem then it may be because of the popcorn I ate 2 weeks in a row on the boat. Hard to find a freakin boat snack LOL. Never had this problem with popcorn before either
Just a FYI Coors lite does contain more alcohol than Bud lite:

Wife keeps bugging me about eating so many Slim Jims. Making me feel guilty because of the fat, salt, cholesterol etc content. I just started eating them when one of the Get R Done comedians said they went great with beer LOL
8 won't hurt you will they? haha

Hey DayCruiser,

Go back and check your link again. It show's Coor's/Coor's light has more alcohol then either Bud/ Bud light.

You had me scared there for awhile cause I's a Coor's light drinker.:p

My Sis-In-Law purchases the can coatings for Ball Corp. I will call her tonight and ask if they have heard about this and if there is anything in the coatings that could cause such a thing. I will report back later tonight or tomorrow with her answer.

Re: Problems with Coors Lite?

you basicly only have one nerve per quadrant of teeth, so if all three are in a row it could be any one of the three that has gone bad, and all filling do break down after a while, so get a check up and fix im up before you do need root canals

Well my teeth hurt too with extreme cold, but that's the way I like my beer. Used to be a died in the wool miller lite drinker but about 8 years ago with miller light at 13.95 a case and natural lite at 9.99 I switched and never looked back. Oh well never said I had good taste in boats or beer.

Re: Problems with Coors Lite?

Just got off the phone with Sis ... in short, she said the beer has effected your brain cells! LOL! The inside can coatings are the same on most cans. Ball makes Coors cans and some of AB's with the same coatings inside. The "Blue when cold" is an outside coating and has no bearing on what is inside the can.

While there have been times when can coatings have not had the desired effects, the present coatings that are being used have performed extremely well and there have been NO reports of the phenomina that you described.

Sorry this does not solve the issues you are having, but after talking with Sis I believe we can rule out the can coatings.

Re: Problems with Coors Lite?

I believe you are experiencing symptoms common to a disease known as "drinking the wrong beer." Not to worry, it can be easily corrected by drinking a Corona, Dos Equis, Steel Reserve (if you're brave), or beers of that like. Basically, your mouth is complaining from lack of taste. Coors Light isn't too bad, I don't drink it out of the cans, bottles are better. But Bud Light?! The only time I drank that stuff was when I was underage and that was the only thing available at the time. And then I grew up. If I drive to a party, and the only beer on tap is Bud Light, well you can call me the DD, cuz I ain't drinking that stuff!

Sound like a cover up to me :D Thanks for getting her opinion. Why did they narrow the cans so they don't fit snugly into cozies anymore? Whoever came up with that idea has brain problems too LOL
I am glad Bud lite isn't all that strong. I did enough damage to my liver in my younger days. Trying not to let my gut get any bigger than it is too
