Dear Sirs,

I have recently purchased a 225 Yamaha 4 stroke outboard engine.
Serial # OT750085.

This engine is mounted on a Boston Whaler 210 Outrage model year 2003.

I have been using this boat / engine for approx. 8 months now.
I take very good care of my boat and engine, after each use in salt
water I thoroughly flush the engine with fresh water and I even spray
silicone after each use all over the the engine. Since the last 3 to 4
times I have used the engine I have this strange noise (sounds like the
squeaking noise of a fan belt) as soon as the engine has been used for a
while, meaning the engine has warmed up to its normal working temp. When
the engine has just started and for a approx. 10 minutes after that the
engine does not make this sound.
Someone told me that it might be the bushing from the shaft that goes
down to the gearbox.

Also I noticed that when driving at approx. 4000-6000rpms the engine
drops down in speed after a few seconds. First the engine used to go
full throttle at approximately 6000rpms and now it does not go more than
5500rpms.

I am really wondering what is wrong with this engine and if someone has
experienced the same trouble before with his YAMAHA or MERCURY 225
4-stroke engine.

Pls advice me with your experience.

Regards,
Edward Schnog

PS. I know that the engine is still under warranty, but I just want to
speed up this procedure, since I live in Curacao and I am the only one
who has this engine, the mechanics over here do not have the experience
to solve the problem.
