Ive been lurking on this forum for some time now learning lots from all your projects and i finally got a project worth posting. I spent a few weeks look searching ebay and other sites trying to find the right boat, but luckily i found one locally which saved a lot of travel and extra expense as i live on an island.
The boat i found was a 13ft ft fibreglass speed boat with a Evinrude 40 on it the outboard was described as running but i think its pretty much scrap so will be sold on as spares. The hull is in a poor condition, but still repairable in my eyes. the deck is totally rotten and needing replaced i was also unsure of the condition of the transom. So using this a my bargaining tools i bid him down to ?250 from ?750.
i borrowed a land rover and towed her home to begin the restoration, it towed well despite the trailer having a bent axle.
time for some pics i think
also the hull made for 16 inch leg outboard but i am thinking to change this to 20 inch for standard outboards as larger short shaft outboards are hard to find over here. Do any of you see any problems in doing this? i know it will be alot of work but i think it is worth it.
